Kessler TKOs Perdomo, Alexander Frenkel KOs Hubert

Ward vs KesslerBy Per Ake Persson: September 12, Herning, Denmark: WBA supermiddle champ Mikkel Kessler stopped Venezuelan Gusmyl Perdomo at 0:56 of the fourth round. Kessler hurt his opponent with a left-right, Perdomo fell into the ropes with Kessler landing with another left-right. The challenger was hurt and about to fall when referee Russell Mora stepped in.

Kessler started slowly and his timing seemed to be off but he worked his way into the fight and was trading with Perdomo, a difficult, awkaward southpaw, in the third. Late in the round he floored Perdomo with a right but the Venezuelan didnīt seem to be hurt.

The champion came through the fight without any injuries and should be on his way to the Super Six tournament in style..

Cruiser Alexander Frenkel knocked out Hungarian Laszlo Hubert with a right - left hook combination in the third of a scheduled eight round fight, Hubert was badly out of it but recovered.

Ex-Contender participant Ahmed Kaddour, now at middleweight, won a unanimous decision after six rounds over German Mike Ermis. Kaddour wasnīt in shape and had trouble most of the way securing a win on scores of 60-54, 59-55 and 58-57.

Jr welter Kasper Bruun floored and stopped Hungarian Mihaly Telefki for a stoppage at 2:27 of the fourth. Bruun picked up a nasty cut in the second.

Middleweight Patrick Nielsen, from the very CIK gym where Kessler and numerous other Danish pros got their start turned pro and stopped Hungarian Zoltan Borovics in the very first round of a mismatch.

in Pori, Finland, also tonight middleweight veteran Kai Kauramaki retained the BBU title with a sixth round stoppage of Magomed Abdurkhanov.
